Rory's Surgery - the most amazing vet visit ever!

Dear Mates.  Oh I am so relieved.  Rory went to the Vets today and had surgery on his foot.  WITHOUT ANAESTHETIC!  Yep that's correct.
We have finally found he has no feeling at all in his left foot and that is probably why he has chewed it.  He went for a check today to make sure the antibiotics were working, and yes they are, but the wound in his toe was still gaping and horrible.  We saw a relief Vet and he was WONDERFUL.  I explained all of Rory's history (although he had read up on his notes) and when he examined his foot and tested the sensation (or lack of), he decided then and there to operate.  On the floor.  On his stomach, with Rory lying in front of him, dozing because it was all so boring.  What a Vet and what a dog.  He has stitched (about 10 stitches) most of the toe up and it looks sooooo much better.  The relief I feel of not having to look into that wound is sooo good.

So now, we have eight weeks of healing of the wound, and probably many many months of nail healing but I don't care!  I feel refreshed.  So to all of you out there in Blogville thank you for your caring thoughts for our big boy.  We just love him so much and he has been such a trooper all during this last year.  Love and Merry Christmas to you all.  Yaahoo.

Love Carol

POTP for Rory and Merry Christmas

Howdy Mates.
Once again we're asking for POTP for Rory.
His nail beds on his bad foot are badly infected (again, sigh).
He has a horribly high temp (41C, 105F, normal should be 38/39C or 101/102F) but is now on antibiotics and pain relief.  He is quiet but a trooper.
Mum was so very proud at the vets because he had two really big (and mum's not joking about the thickness/size) needles.
He did growl and tell us he did not like it but never thought about hurting our lovely Vet nurse.  It's the first time he's ever growled at anyone so we reckon it really did hurt.

So send him some lovin, but no food parcels please cause, well, he's a bit fat.  Nothing wrong with that but we were all surprised when he tipped the scales at 91.4 kgs (201 lbs).  He's put on three kgs in the last few months.  Sorry to say, it's not from mum's cooking!

Mum dragged up this old photo.  She has no shame.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
FROM ALL OF US, TO ALL OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
(Another old photo)

We will see you all in the New Year.
Come on 2015, hurry up please.
One Last Thing........

WE LOVE YA TO BITS AND PIECES MATES!

Howdy Everybuddy.  Hope you are all organised for Christmas cause our mum is hopeless.  She had a birthday the other day and now tries to play the "oh I'm getting old and demented" trick but we know it's pure laziness really.  We gave her a good sugar fix by making her two cakes.  The one below was a baked cheesecake made our younger sissy and the next photo is the cake made by our bigger sissy.  Both were totally yummers.  Well we think they were by the moans of delights while they were eaten.  We of course, dobbed out.

I even had to get my own hat and remind mum to take photos this year.

Er, mum are you forgetting something?
Like putting on my hat maybe???

Rory?  Are you coming here mate?

 Rory says no :-(

Here is Rory getting some exercise.  Mum is ashamed to say she hasn't been walking him as much as she should.
Rory says he doesn't care but mum knows his legs aren't as good as they were.

Here mum holds one of Rory's boots and he walks so much better without it.  Mum is wearing her favourite dress, again.

Here's Rory looking small next to our tall brother.  Sometimes he likes to be small hehe.

Here is a panoramic photo our sissy took.  We think it is amazing.
Take care mates.  We often visit your blogs but don't always comment.  We hope mum gets herself into gear next year.

No worries, and love, Stella, and Rory

Happy Thanks Blogville

Oh mates.  Where do we start to say what Blogville means to us.  It has given us laugh out loud moments, tears of laughter, tears of sorrow and everything in between.   Our family first moved to Blogville in 2010.  Our angel brother Bruce paved the way for us.

He loved pizza and also scones.

He (and mum) started to blog, but sadly he went to the Rainbow Bridge after four posts.  The most amazing thing was, after only four posts and a couple of comments, when Bruce passed away mum received 35 comments with heartfelt condolences to her and our family.  Thirty five!  Mum was amazed and comforted like never before.  Thirty five people whom we had never met but who took the time to send love.  That still makes my mum's heart just melt.

Mum had a break for a while and then started to read other blogs and then comment.  Our angel sissy Kara and our cousin Tyler made a few appearances over that time.  Then dear sweet old Kara passed too and our family had no dogs at home.  Can you imagine.  No dogs.  Mum lasted a month and then Stella was welcomed into the family and two months after that Rory came home too.  Chaos reigned and blogging began in ernest.

My name is Stella and I have the face of an angel, bwahahahaha.

My name is Rory

and this is my bossy sister.

Over these last four and a half years we have made dear furriends and lost dear furriends too, but Blogville continues to support their community.  There is always someone to visit, someone to laugh with, someone to care for and someone who needs some extra love.  Blogville, you are amazing.  Everyone is welcome.  We will never forget how we felt surrounded by your love during some of our toughest times.  We hope we gave you some laughs too cause as mum tells us, we are lovable ratbags.

So HAPPY THANKS BLOGVILLE everybuddy.

NO WORRIES, AND SLOBBERY LOVE,
STELLA AND RORY

Howdy Mates.

Oh, poo, what's that smell.  Aw yeah.  Rory has his boots off.  Here's Rory's foot.  See how his pads have sort of grown hairy.  It makes them slippery and he doesn't like to walk on the lino but that's ok cause if you remember, we have carpet squares for him in a little path from the family room to the lounge room.  For the last two weeks, mum has given Rory's bad left foot, some air during the day when he's inside.  His nails have nearly grown back on the top but are sorta warped.  Under the nail where the "quick" is, they are still delicate butt, he can walk inside without them bleeding.  Yaahooo.

He is NEVER trusted cause he still chews his nails if he gets a chance.  We think maybe it's a habit.  Mum puts Vicks Vaporub on his nails so it smells yucky to him.

Lucky for us, he is 89 kgs (195 lbs) of pure laziness hehehe.

I, Stella, on the otherhand, being fat as butter fit as a fiddle, have decided I like to chase balls.
Here is my ball (well I have decided it's mine) that bounces really high and I love to run and chase it.  It makes me happy.

Sometimes, mum doesn't take the ball when I bring it to her and then I have to carry it around for about 87 hours
cause I don't want lazybones to get it.

Well I'm kinda tired now.  I always sleep under our dining room table nowadays, unless I get on Rory's new big bed and then he is too scared to make me get off, bwahahahaha.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our mates who celebrate it.
Hope your day is a good one.

No worries, and love, Stella, and Rory

Remembering the love.

Howdy Everybuddy.  Today it is five years since our angel Nana (mum's mum) passed away.  We never met her but have been told she was the best Nana and mum in our world.  We know other people have the best Nana and Mums too but here in our family, she was our absolute best.

Here she is holding our mum when she was a little bub.
Mum felt loved every day of her life.

On the day she passed away it was our eldest brother's birthday.  Here he is with Nana.
She loved her grandchildren with all her heart.

When mum had moved out of home, she would say to our dad "I've got to go and see mum" and he would say "why?" and she would say, "I don't know, I just have to".
Mum only lived around the corner so that made the visits easy :-)

Mum and Nana liked to share a glass of bubbly.
She is loved and missed every single day.

If you have your mum nearby,
go and give her a good cuddle, mates.
Take care and hope your weekend is a good one.

No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Wordless Wednesday - Actually there are some words!

Hey sissy.  Do you think I could go on your train?

Sorry Rory, no dogs on trains here except Service Dogs.
Plus you're such a big baby, you'd miss your mum too much.

No worries, and love,
Stella and Rory

A nice surprise.

Howdy Everybuddy
We had a nice surprise the other day when we saw a koala and her baby visiting in our neighbour's tree.
She was sitting on their cat enclosure for a while.

Then climbed their pear tree.
We are glad she came to say hello.  We've never seen a wild koala with a baby before.  She was gone in the morning.

No worries and love, Stella and Rory

P.S.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and concern for our daughter.  Blogville, you are indeed, a sanctuary.

Stinky and slobbery - yeah that's mum.

Howdy mates.  Mum loves to sit at the 'puter most mornings checking out lots of crxp interesting stuff.  We snoopervise when she is checking out all our Blogville furriends and tell her what to write.

While she looks and comments, I Rory, like to rub my head all over her lap, arms and chest making it impossible more entertaining for her to type.  I'm not joking.  I can do it for hours cause I just love having a head massage, especially with ear scritches as well.  Mmmm, mum's dressing gown smells devine.

It also gives me the opportunity to wipe any slobber or eye boogers (ewwwwww) on her dressing gown.  She hates loves the feeling of those cold wet snots on her hehehe.  You'll have to forgive mum's PJs, she's never been known to be a follower of fashion.  Up here in the hills, you wear whatever it takes to keep warm hehe.

Stella lays around waiting to get breakfast.  I know, criminal isn't it, that we have to wait for breakfast.

After my face is clean, I know there is nothing to do but relax and wait for mum to finish.

Can you see my carpet squares? They are rubber backed.
I love them and can walk from the family room to the lounge room without fear of slipping.

See you all soon mates.   Hope your weekend was wonderful.  Mum is feeling extra happy
and we will have some news for you all soon.
No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella
